Sully here
Just wanted to let everyone know that its great to see/read other bikers
communicating via the net. Now adays you can find whatever you want
online and you dont have to own a Harley to do so. Dodged that pricey bullet.
Maybe i'll hear from ya maybe i won't. Wave to the harley guys they wont know the difference. What A great looking motorcycle glad i did all that research.
Maybe i should have gotten my M license b4 the bike
now i can only stare at it and rub it with a cloth till april 5th.

Welcome Sully. Now that you have some free time, you can start your mods in advance. I hope you're a strong person. I do not think I could just look at the bike for six weeks without riding. I imagine she'll be spit and polished big time before April.

Well just think, if you had bought the Harley, you would still be sitting there staring at it and wouldn't even need the license!

Most of my friends ride HD. They allways say why didn't you buy a HD? I tell then I write my own book, I am not a HD guy.

Welcome Sully. Sounds like you did some research before you bought. It is good to see you didn't buy into that HD hype. Looking forward to your riding exploits.

Welcome to our world.
To bad you live on the other coast or I would bring mine over for some polish
mine is covered with the winter grime of Oregon, they don't use salt or chemicals on the road around here so it is just ground up rock dust.:choppersm

I looked at the Harley FatBoy briefly. I saw it was $8,000.00 more than the Kawasaki 1600 Classic. A Coworker said if I bought a Harley, I'd have more friends. If I must spend an extra $8,000.00 to have friends, no thanks. (Harley Bash here--> I guess you make more friends waiting for service when they breakdown). Everyone adds to their bike to make it theirs. I've added a lot of 'Bling' to my 1300R and still have not spent the extra $8,000.00+ to buy a basic FatBoy, before bling. Only problem I have is hearing my bike when I ride with Harley owners. There are some good Harley riders. and there are some bad riders on every make of bike. Some wave some don't. I prefer the whole hand wave over one finger. It's a hot 43 degrees outside now. I'm going for a ride.

Me too. I was pining for a Harley Softtail Deluxe (I stil think it is a beautiful bike). I can't, however, justify paying that much for the bike, when I can get something like my 1800R for 1/2 the price, and have fewer maintenance issues.
Initially my wife said we couldn't afford the bike (she had seen the numbers a new OTD 1800R was). When I came home with an offer from the dealer up the street for a Spec 3 at $9899, I explained with gas prices being what they are now, we almost HAD to buy it. She agreed, and has said once she laid eyes on it, that the VTX is the most gorgeous bike she's seen. My wife is now my consultant on what bike bling to buy next...
