All,

Twice since I bought my bike I have ordered from RideGear.com. With the first order last year I eventually got the order, but it took forever as the helmet they sent the first time was the wrong one, and I had to convince them to allow me to return it.

Recently I ordered some safety gear from them. The order confirmation they sent me was the wrong size...so I immediately emailed them about it. No response to the email. A week goes by and I get a notice that the incorrect size item was backordered. So I emailed again, then followed up with a call. No answer. No voicemail.

I have been unable to reach them via the phone, and my repeated emails just get an automated BS reply with a ticket number.

I would highly recommend that you NOT use them.

I think you will find more and more of this stuff going on with the shape of the economy. A lot of these folks were probably just holding on and now robbing Peter to pay Paul. Could be wrong but I think that is partly what is going on with some of these suppliers.

+1 on goldsmith.
Most of these distributors are very small and don't have enough resources to begin with - It's not like we're ordering from Wal-mart.
The goods ones will survive this economic downturn because of virtual communities like this one who are willing to share and spread their experiences.

...And the rest will dissappear for the very same reason...Word of mouth can make or break a buisiness....

I ordered a jacket from Ridegear.com, same bad experience. Took a week to tell me they don't know when it may ship, impossible to get them on the phone. A real dissapointment. Stay away from these guys.
