Hello,
Just found the VTX Cafe. i didn't believeit, I just purchased a 2006 VTX 1300C and am lucky enough to find this site. I live in St. Marys Ga. I have been down here for about 18 years, originally from New Hampshire. I just started using the site and already have question about the VTX. I am getting a lot of vibration when doing about 50 MPH in 4th gear and about 55 in 5th gear. I get the vibration in all gears at different speeds, but it's worse at 50 and 55. I bought the bike right out of the crate with 0 miles on it. It is aheavy vibration (if you know what Imean) almost like a bad universal joint ona rear wheel drive car. Just wondered if the bike was noted for having a lot of vibration? I traded in a 750 Aero, it rode as smooth as glass. Hope to talk to a lot of you. Thanks in advance.

I am sure you will love your VTX I also went from the AERO to the VTX 1300C and man there is a world of difference in these bikes. I have 1250 miles on mine and have never had a vibration but it could be as simple as needing the tires balanced could have been forgotton. I am sure there will be others with similar problems that will be able to help you as well. Good luck

Might want to check psi in the tires for vibration. Welcome to the site Rod!!

Great to meet you bubba1980,
You are right, there is aworld of differrence in the bikes. I only have about 500 miles on the 1300. I am going to stop at the dealers tomorrow after work. I hope it is something as simple as the tires. I am still trying to figure out how to use this site.
Thanks for your responce,

I think you are going to slow in those gears for the speed you are trying to maintain. If the tire pressure is good, just try downshifting a gear and see if the vibration is still there.

Great to meet you also thundrhd,
I have checked the pressure in the tires several times. I hope it's something really simple.

Hello pastordave,
Great to meet you. I guess I will just have to see what the dealership has to say. You all have good points.

Welcome to the Cafe, rodc607. I've not had any issues with vibration in the 18 months I've had the beastie, but it seems our fellow Xers have some idea. Good luck figuring it out and then Enjoy!!

Hey, Rod, welcome!
How about tire balance, in addition to shifting down and psi? Bearings? Never heard of this issue. I have a '05 1300R and an '05 Shadow Aero, nothing like you've described - hope the mechs give you an affordable fix.

Hello yourself, and Welcome!
As you are finding out, the peopel here are excellent when you need help, have questions, or just want to talk about the bike.
If you find you want to buy something, modify the bike in some way, or take it for a ride to specific destinations, this site is where to check.
As far as your vibrations...I would listen to what these experienced folks have to say, and then use that info when you go to the dealer.
