Just purchased a 2006 VTX 1300 R and I'm thrilled. It's got a Memphis Shades windshield, Cobra pipes (loud), Cobra sissy bar, Cobra bag supports and some wimpy fake leather itty bity bags. It is that screaming blue.
Only put about 500 miles on it and already trying to figure out what to do to it next.
I've been reading the forums and getting great ideas. You guys are way over my head on most stuff but I'll try to catch up.
First thing I know I need to do if I'm going to ride more than 200 miles a day is get my bars up and back a little. I'm 5'9" and like to ride "up" or "tour" so I need to pull them back about 2" or so and up about 2". Any suggestions in this area would be appreciated.
Happy to be here.
Ride when you can, walk the rest of the time.
Welcome Mark.
Looks like you are going to need some pull back risers.
I just installed 4 inch pull back's and they look good. Now if this snow will stop I'll give it a ride.
If you go anymore then 4 inch pull back's you'll need to start extending cables and brake lines. That can start running into a little money and time.

Welcome mark! I did the same with my 06R when i got it. I bought some 4" lightining risers out of a big book at the honda dealer, they moved the bars up about 4" and back about 2". I did not relocate the cables and one set is a bit tight but does not interfere with cornering or engine performance. You can check out the pics in my gallery, I did the whole remove / install procedure.
