View Full Version : Hello
Hello to all fellow vtx riders. I am new to this site and I have to say it is a great place to be. Been riding for a few years and have loved every minute of it. I live in Albuquerque, N.M and we have alot of good riding weather all year long. I hope to communicate with many of you though the years and will do my best to contribute to this site.

Welcome! The Cafe is a great place to learn about the bike, and exhange idas with others with varying amounts of experience.

Welcome Hijo. This site is the best. What kind of bike you been "riding for a few years"?
I have to agree, it is a great site. My first ride was a '06 honda shadow spirit 750. It was a nice bike but I wanted something bigger. Thats when I upgraded to the vtx 1300R.

Beastie boy, those bags are nice. Hope to get some one of these days.
Pastordave, any little tips you might be able to give on making my bike look better would be appreciated.

Well I am honored that you would ask.
For safety and for looks I recommend the cobra fatty highway bars.
A tank bib is a nice addition as well
For sheer looks I recommend the ISO grips. The windshield that I bought (Hell Cat) really does keep the nice lines of the Retro. Very happy with it. Mscales really sold me on it.
I did the deep clayton mod. It does make the bike sound better, plus it enables you to hear it while you are riding. Without a tach, it is almost a must just for the necessity of hearing your motor. Plus the aroma of the rumble is intoxicating.
If you haven't had your seat modded out, it is critical if you are going to ride for any length of time. Here is where a lot of riders have sent their seat www.meancitycycles.com
The sissy bar and rack (laser cut) are nice when you are riding two up. Again it keeps the lines of the bike very intact.
If you have any other questions please feel free to ask via the forum or a PM. Again thanks for letting me weigh in on how to spend your money. :D

They're Hondaline (made for them by Auburn Leather). The US Saddlebags are very nice also, and are more easily removable, but lock onto the easy brackets.

LeatherLyke is also very nice, and has the added advantage of being waterproof.
