Hello all, I just joined this weekend and I have had my X for a little over a year now and so far I have racked up a little over 11000 miles (not nearly enough but work gets in the way). I have already gone chrome and aftermarket crazy as you can see and I just cant seem to quit. Hope to get to meet some of you at the homecoming this year, or maybe just for a ride someday.

Welcome man!!!..I really dig the fairing...I was checking out the pics on Wideopen's site, and really didn't like the way the fairing looked on the VTX's they show...But it must be a difference in mounting, 'cause yours, and the guy with the orange one here on site look waaaaay better than the others I was looking at...Wondering if you're planning on a lightbar on your ride???..I've been trying to save for a fairing, just need to make up my mind which one to get..Bike looks great, man!!....

Bassdude404, I am really thinking about getting a light bar for the reason that I like to ride at night and that factory headlight does not put out enough for me. As for the mounting of the fairing it is sweet, it bolts right up to my existing memphis shades brackets. Also you really cant beat the price of the wide open fairing.

In that case...Let me recommend the Hondaline lightbar....That's what I'm using..I had a Cobra first time around, but the spots were too deep, and wouldn't work with the windsheild..The Cobra one also had the on/off switch mounted on the bar itself, waaaay out of reach while riding....The Hondaline one is totally plug and play...The switch mounts up on the left handlebar, on the mirror mount....It also has everything needed, including a relay already wired into the harness...That keeps the lightbar from frying the starter button switch...None of the aftermarket lightbars include the relay that I know of.....I haven't been able to use mine yet as I installed it late last year, but others have said it makes a world of difference...

I know it probably dosent make alot of difference when it comes to deer, because they can come out of nowhere but it would make me feel a little better with a little more light. My son in laws dad had a deer hit him in the side last fall and it totaled his bike. I suppose that could go for dogs, cats, rabbits, or any other animal when your on a bike running about 70.
