I picked up an '04 VTX 1300C. The seller had these $700+ forward controls installed. According to the seller, the levers are supposedly adjustable. He is about 2" taller than me. He had them installed by a shop and does not have the adjustment instructions. I e-mailed Accutronix to get a download of the install and adjustment manual but 3 days now and no reply. its no fun shifting with the very tip of my shoe.
Either I need to get bigger (longer) shoes, revert to the original controls or...find somebody that is familair with the adjustment procedure.

There is no manual or instructions. Just gotta know how to do it. On the brake side, you can adjust the screw and lock nut on the back of the brake master cylinder by the brake lever. This will do small adjustments. If you want to to large adjustments then you need to remove the outside cap, The cap should be lock-tited on so you need to get a strap wrench and take the cover so you don't scratch it or get a large pair of channel locks and THICK cloth or leatehr to keep the cover safe. Turn counter-clockwise to remove. This will let you remove the BIG NUT that holds the lever on and you can turn it on the spline. THe shifter side adjusts the same way for BIG adjustments but for smaller ones you just take the shift linkage rod loose by unscrewing the jamb nuts on each end. You will need to take the chrome side cover off the engine to do this. THis shaft is LEFT/ RIGHT threaded so turning the rod one direction will either raise or lower the lever. THe LEFT/RIGHT threads will either spread the ends or pull them closer together so watch closely. It is easy to do and shouldn't take to long to do. Any problems just post up again.

Thanks, will try the removing the cap and moving the lever on the spline. If that don't work, I talked with a buddy of mine and he thinks he can machine a block of aluminum with some offset mounting holes in order to move the whole assembly back about 1 1/2" total.
From what I understand, the Accutronix assembly moves the foot peg location a total of 5-6 " forward of the stock location for that "streched out leg" look. My inseam is 32". Sitting on a stock bike in the showroom, my knees felt a bit too bent. These Accutronix are a bit too forward. Guess I'm in that grey area (along with my hair).

YOu can move them back to far. The brake side will hit the pipe as it only has about 1/2" of clearance. I could use about 1" back but what I did is cut the seat so I sit lower and that helped a lot.

Hi so I'm a new rider and at 6'6" wondering if the Accutronix controls are the way to go? I just got a mostly-stock VTX 1300 C and am thinking this should be my first mod, cuz I'm so tall.... thanks for any ideas/suggestions!

Acctronix add about 3" to the stretch. You can always have a offset mounting plate made to move them out a little farther as long as they dont hit the front fender when you turn. The only thing you would need would be a longer shift rod extension or just make a longer rod.
