Can anyone recommend a rim cleaner? Simply Green....simply stinks!
Thanks in advance.

If they are pitted, you will probably have to remove them and polish with power tools. I have tried everything on mine and have given up. My next step is if I have to remove them, I will have them powder coated!!

Try " Greased Lightning", Home Depot has, for the initial clean. NAPA Auto Parts, maybe others have aluminum cleaner for final clean. Then polish with a good metal polish/wax...I use "Master ormula" polish then their gloss sealer, they will almost look chromed...

Try either Mother's aluminum or Meguire's aluminum polish and a mini-powerball. I prefer Meguires products. Takes a little time and a few ruined towels, but a big difference.
Should do it twice to really make them pop. Don't get freaked out by all the black, it's just oxidation coming off and eventually wipes clean.
Can be done with the wheels on the bike, which is a plus. They include an extension rod with the mini-ball. Cheapest is Target or Wal Mart.
Close to chrome, but you will have to do it a couple times a year.

Chrome them and be done with it.

Simple Green is nasty on aluminum. It is a very strong degreaser. I used it when I had to pressure wash the diesel engine on my motor home / bus conversion. I had a slight oil leak that dumped a total of 12 gallons (yes gallons) across the US from Oakland CA to Hampton VA. Most of the leak was kept inside the engine compartment and the back of the bus. For my rims I used the little powerball and Mother's Aluminum rim cleaner on my 1300R

How hard is it to use that mini-power ball, I saw them in the Wal-mart this past weekend. I opted for the Never-Dull and maybe 2 hours of polishing by hand. There has got to be an easier way

The powerball is a good tool to use, not too difficult.
steel wool then wet sand start with 1000 grit then work your way up then start buffing with black ruge then red then white. Long process but will look like chrome.
I just bought a mini-ball (Wal-Mart $20), and it was well worth it. You still have to use some muscle to wipe off the excess, but you'll be shocked at the oxidation that comes off. That red ball of foam will be black in a minute or two. It's not a 5 minute process, but I think it's worth it.

++++1 on the Master Formula. This stuff is awesome. http://sites.browsermanaged.com/folder5077/index.cfm?fuseaction=browse&id=51473&pageid=1 It has jewelers rouges in it that makes them sparkle. After I used this stuff I noticed a spot I missed so I hit it with Mothers Aluminum Polish just for sh!ts & giggles and to my surprise it was so much duller a real noticeable difference. I swear by this stuff, and the sealer is good on painted metal too. Now like others have said if you have pitting or stains then you need to rub them down with real real fine sandpaper or steal wool first to remove the imperfections.

Not with the Master Formula. One application with sealer and they say your good for a year with just a damp cloth wiping from time to time. Also love the power-ball what a time saver!

How hard is this to do with the bike on the ground? Do most of you put the bike up on a jack?

Mothers Makes A Great All Purpose Wheel Cleaner In A Spray Form. I Use It On All Of My Vehicles. My New F150 Supercrew Gets Brake Dust Really Bad On Front Wheels. Spray On Mothers All Purpose Cleaner "hot Or Cold" Hose Off. Looks Like New Wheel Every Time.
I Guess The Old Saying Of "there's Nothing Like A Mothers Love" Is My Motto.
Great Chrome Cleaner And Waxes Also.

Check out Gord's aluminum polish - seems to work - but looks like we should all get together and ask Honda wtf they made rims like this for
I know a guy who uses Wright's silver cream on his rims. I talked with him about it the other day and he tells me you just wipe it on and rub or hose it off and it works great. I have looked at his rims and they look new.
