Finally got to take the bike out for a while. Unfortunatley I was called in to work but got to ride the bike in so it wasn't a total downer.
Finsished up all the desmog and pair valve removal stuff as well as adding a set of Cobra slip ons and a Cobra Fi2000r. I didn't go with the factory recommended settings, I followed another member's cue and set it at 2,0,0. There is just a hint of part throttle surging now. Huge improvement over how it was! Most of the decel popping is gone too!
I bought the slip ons from another VTX owner near by for $200. I thought he gave me everything I needed but I had to order a regulator bracket from Cobra to complete the install. I installed the O2 cell eliminators as well.
The exhaust tone is a huge improvement over the "big air compressor" sound it used to make!
I can't say I can tell any noticeable improvement in performance yet. Maybe tomorrow I can give it a proper "shake down".:)
