I'm thinking of buying the Kury "swingwing" pegs for a little extra legroom instead of highway bars on my '06 1300c. they look like they can serve multiple comfort purposes as mini floorboards when closed or highway pegs when open. Can anyone tell me their likes or dislikes about them?

I have them. They are alright. I worry about dragging them and wish they could be opened and closed on the move, but they do ride like a small floorboard and do add a little comfort on the big roads.

I have them front and back.. Wife loves them folded out. I tend to keep them folded. I don't care for the leg position unfolded. I am going to go to bars with pegs..

Installed some last week and love em! I'm 6'4 and they work great for me.

Well, more research/tuning is required, but I like 'em so far. (I currently have mine angled 'up' too much and will ride more after adjusted.)

More options for foot placement than standard pegs, no doubt. I also put my heel on the main part and the ball of my foot on the extended 'wing', not always just on the main or on the extended wing.

My knees will go full lock/flat on the extened wings. (About 5' 11" here). That may be comfortable for a change, but not for a long time.

Riding on the 'main' section only with wings out is kinda funky, as the swept design of the main doesn't allow you to tuck in tight to the bike if you have any kind of heel on your boot. THIS is NOT a problem with the wing retracted.

Pretty comfy with wings retracted vs a standard peg as you have a 'mini' board that spreads the weight of your foot/leg out to more than just the arch of your foot.

Installation was pretty easy. On my 18, I had to remove a chrome cover on the brake side to get the pin out.

The splined adapters (chrome) do not quite fit 'factory snug' in the frame peg mounts, so they MIGHT shake around a little without your foot on 'em. (Probably not on an X, but maybe if you own one of those bikes that shakes like it was designed 105 yrs ago!)

SAE Allen (hex) wrench required for peg installation to adapter not included. (I've got a jillion of 'em, but not everyone does.)

Polish job not 100% prior to chroming. 99.5%, but not 100%.

So far, IMHO, they do inprove the look and function of the bike vs standard pegs.

Individual results may vary. RIDE SAFE! :choppersm

I had them and wasn't satisfied with build quality. Every moving part felt real loose on them. The part that you moved with your hand to let them extend and close fell off within 100 miles of installation. But when they were closed I liked the room they allowed (mini floorboard). I didn't like them cause they scraped to soon. As stated before the adapters didn't fit snug but I went to lowes and got an allen head bolt and nut and they fit snug then.
But Kuryakyn stood behind their customer service and product gave my dealer a full refund on the pegs which the dealer gave to me. Not happy with them but still a huge fan of Kuryakyn.

Well, after 500 some odd miles, I'm going to keep mine installed.

They do rub a bit quicker in the corners, but this will happen with anything you stick out there 'yea odd far' away from your bike at peg height. I fold mine in if I feel like conditions merit. (Depends on your roads and riding style, with feet on the wings I end up rubbing the heel of my boot way before the actual peg hits)

I personally know that they do not fit snug in the factory foot peg mounts as I am the one who installed them. Nobody else can tell w/o walking up there and shaking it, so I'm not sure how much of an issue this is. They do not 'rattle' or move around a lot, just loose..

They do have some moving parts that may come loose or seize up over time. The instructions indicate you are to disaassemble, clean and lubricate the parts.

I wish the angle of the 'wings' when extended were 'swept back' more, vs perpendicular to the motorcycle. I read on another forum where a guy actually drilled an additional hole on the main peg for the locking pin, allowing it to lock in a more 'swept back' position. I migh try that, but I dunno,,,,

IMHO, the best benefit of these pegs is the multiple places you have to rest your feet.
