See off a Soldier!

:patriot:Greetings all! A soldier from 2/5 FA out of Ft. Sill, OK is fixing to deploy later this summer. This will be his third deployment. And worst of all this will be his first deployment without me! So to send him off with some great memories and a good time, we are going on a ride from Sherman to Galveston.

Ride Dates: June 13th - June 16th

Day 1:choppersm

I will start off in Sherman and meet up with Minor(buddies name) in or around Athens, TX. then we will take it slow and easy until we get to Sam Houston National Forest where we will spend the night. We are still working out the details of whether we will be camping or getting a hotel somewhere.

Day 2

Take ride out from Sam Houston National Forest to Beaumont, TX, to Port Arthur, Sabine Pass, Port Bolivar, then to Galveston. We will probably do some sight seeing and just hang out for the rest of the day. Maybe ride up and down the beach. :cheers:Well just have a good time and do whatever we feel like doing on a whim.

Day 3:choppersm

Hang out some more in Galveston until about 2-3pm then start our trip back north. We will be taking our time and the route back hasn't been planned yet. We are NOT going through Houston! I don't care what is going on, just not doing it. We are looking at Highway 87 from Port Arthur and wind our way through Mayflower to Sabine and Angelina National Forests. Day 4

We will probably stop somewhere along the way to bed down on Day 3. Today is our day to make it back home. We are still planning the return trip so bear with us. haha

This is supposed to be a chilled out ride. Stop and look at the pretties and just enjoy riding for a few days. We aren't planning on hurrying and we will probably stop pretty often just to see stuff and strech our legs. Again, we are in NO hurry what-so-ever!

Please let me know if you are interested. If you guys want to meet up with us somewhere let us know. I think we can stop to say hi and ride with you for a while. Below you will find the link for the destination route. We will be riding along the texas coast part of the way. This should be really fun!

man, I live in Houston area so riding around here would be cool. I could even take a trip up north to meet you guys somewher. Not for sure because I don't know exactly what's going on for me that week but I would love to meet up with you guys. got some buddy's (they ride Harley's but don't hold that against them) that would probably ride too.

Some of our plans have changed. We are still going on the 13th, but instead of going through Sam Houston National Forest we will probably be going on Hwy 96 through Angelina and Sabine National Forests. To beaumont. I think we may try to puch all the way to Galveston on Friday. We are still discussing it. Let me know where you would like to meet up at.
