I just ordered a set of the Cobra Speedster Longs for my 08' 1300R and was wondering if anyone has these pipes on their bike. I was wondering how they sounded or if anyone has any complaints w/ them. I heard a sound clip w/ them and they sounded good. Any comments

Love 'em. Get TONS of good comments from other riders. You'll be very happy. They are quiet enough to sneak out of the neighborhood, but loud enough that people, yourself included, don't think you're riding a sewing machine!

My friend is coming over after work and we are installing mine tonight. I already have a sound clip w/stock clayton mod and will take the after install sound clip tonight.

I'm also going to post some other items related to this (working on a much better installation guide compared to the pdf from Cobra's website). I'll post that when I finish making it. The install should be pretty straight forward, but after reading the Cobra instructions...I'm crossing my eyes.

I estimate the install w/o problems to be a 4 beer job.

Hmm, 4 beer job...as long as you don't RIDE after the FOUR beers, you should be ok.

I think it took me..uh, probably 6 beers. But then, I was doing it alone, taking pics, and it was COLD.
So, with friends, decent weather, and not too much 'horseplay' going on, that might actually be a pretty close estimate. Let us know, k?

The beers are just a time measurement. I had help tonight and it did take longer than I anticipated. Here is the improved "how to" install guide I created.

Well, now we know what took you so long. Sheesh, takin' pics, doing a detailed write up. THAT'S what took 6 beers. Again, as long as you didn't ride after those six beers, you're ok.
Now, about the write up...where were you when I was doing the change over???!!!

Good job, thanks for taking the time, I know I didn't.

I cant wait until they come in....... They should be hear in a few days. The stock exhaust is way to quiet. By the way, does anyone know how to remove the stock grips to install ISO grips?

Thanks! Actually, I had one beer over the 2.5hrs of install time, so no worries.

I like taking pictures when working on the bike...this way when I screw something up I can fix it. It would have been much easier if the Cobra instructions were better.

I love the pipes! They sound great and make the bike feel like a bike :D

I posted some sound clips before/after and a pick of the final product installed on my site. http://www.itrider.net
