I use the ram mount system for my gps garmin C340. Would like to let everyone know it works great and is solid as a rock. No problem and I ride a lot of back roads with my vtx and it is rough. Run it straight from the installed gps batt. Never ran it down yet. If you don't want to run power from the bike here is what I do?
Charging: After I come home/or from motel
Three ways I use. (1) I brought a cig adapter with clip ons and attach to my boat batt through a cell phone usb adaptor I brought at wally-world for 10 bucks. Works great.
Or (2) use my computer when at home. Or (3) brought a batt case from radio shack for 2 bucks and installed the eight AA batt. Its out put is the necessary 5V required for the usb to gps. Clip on the above cig adaptor and charge it up. What is nice about this system I carry it in my bags incase I do run down the gps batt. or I'm staying over night in a motel and use this to bring the batt back to full charge at the end of the day. Hope this may help. I just noticed I put a 'p' after ram. Please excuse. Not muct of a speller.
