Fuel Pick-Up Mod

Was wondering who's done it and if they thought it was worth it or not. Was going to do the mod next week along with desmog.

Why the heck would you want to do that, you know what mpg you get you know how many gallons it takes on a fill.

Just don't make any sense to me, light comes on you know you got x number of miles you can go, I would rather the light come on early because I don't like to push bikes.

You pull out the fuel pick-up unit and bend it down some so you will actually get more gas out of one tank as stated in link you gain about 10-15 more miles. Then you can move your sensing unit so it won't come on so early since you just gained more miles.

getting the 10 to 15 more miles might be ok but I bet Honda figured there may be crap in the gas and they did not want to suck that muck up into the injectors.

Thats why you have fuel filters, and there is still plenty of gas still left in the bottom. I wasn't able to bend mine down because I didn't have access to a vice, so I just put more holes in the rubber where the fuel is sucked up to add more flow. I will be going back in there to do the rest of the mod when I take the tank off again though. Just something to do.

You do not have to have a vice. The metal is rather soft. You can place it on something hard and tap with a hammer. to get it straight.
