View Full Version : Seat mod
I've been doing these seat mods for a couple years now and have 20 years upholstering experiance. Right now I am only doing the seat mod but may start making replacement covers and custom covers in the future if the demand for them is there. Instead of buying a several hundred dollar seat that dont fit the gas tank as good as the stock seat I mod the stock seat to sit like a Mustang does. There is plenty of foam in the stock seat to several differant mods.

are you saying you can take a stock seat and make it look like the one in the picture? either way, I need my seat to allow me to sit back about another inch or two and maybe an inch lower. I am tall and need more leg room.

look at my seat, its been modified. 3" lower or so but i actually sit a little closer to the pegs now. you need extended forward controls.

No the seat in the picture is a Sumo-X seat for a 240 tire setup. What I do is mod the stock seat, 1300's and 1800's to sit comfortable. I offer 3 mods 1. the basic, 2. Rider's Choice and 3. Extreme. I remove the foam that makes the tail bone hurt so bad and flatten the sitting area out. This in return gives you a better riding position and gives you some lower back support. The mod prices range from $30-40 plus you pay shipping to and from. I don't want to be considered a spammer but here is my web page http://www.meancitycycles.com/Seatmod.htm with all the info and a few pictures of some previously modded seats.

looked at your site. so what you do, is cut almost a foam triangle out of the seating area flip it up and over on the fender and then put a new cover on it?
where is Maiden NC? I live in Winston Salem. Maybe I could ride it over and have you do the mod right there. That we you could make it 'custom' to me.

I do cut out the part that hurts your arse but also flatten the seat out more and shape the back to be lower back rest. Maiden is a little west of Gastonia off hwy 321 between Gastonia and Hickory. I have guys ride up all the time to have the seat made "custom" to them. email me if you want set up a time allen@meancitycycles.com
