Just installed new ram mounting for GPS last night and went for a short ride, noticed all through the powerband speedo is off 4-5mph. I was under the impression that speedos were off by %. 10% @ 50mph indicated = 45mph actual speed etc. Anyone else notice this?

I just put a Garmin Zumo on my bike and The first thing I noticed is that my speedo is off by about 5mph as well at cruising speed. At slow speed it is pretty accurate. It appears the faster I go the larger the error.

When I was installing my Speedohealer, the instructions said to ride 60 mph on the GPS and note what the bike's speedometer is reading. Mine was 66 mph. Using their calculator I was able to program the speedohealer and now the speedometer has the same reading all across the dial as the GPS. Now the odometer is reading a little less than actual, as the instructions said it would. No worry, I use synthetic oil and I am changing my oil at 3,000 miles . I was told here on the group I was wasting my money. I do not care, you cannot change oil too often. You sure can screw up a motor by not changing the oil.

Yup. Big time. Mine is off about 5-6 mph compared to my Garmin Zumo 550. It's typical. I was talking to the guys at my local shop and they said it is typical for the factory to set them off that much. Bad thing is it puts in mileage that isn't really there. There is a thing called SpeedoHealer that will correct it. Haven't tried that yet but plan on doing it soon before I put too many more miles on my bike. Hope this helps.

I have to correct my initial findings on speedo error. Went on a long trip last week and GPS indicates speedo is off by 10% exactly. I am really looking into getting a speedohealer for my bike. Any suggestions would be appreciated as to where I can order one. Thanks!!!

I bought my Speedohealer from http://www.calsportbike.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?cart_id=1637143.93102&pid=1988&count=1

Make sure you let them know you have 200? Honda 1?00 motorcycle. I bought mine and they sent me the wrong wire connector. I should have gotten the SH-HO3, they sent me the SH-HO2. No big problem, I just had to switch two wires on the four prong connector. When you are ready to install, just follow the instructions. Simple to do. Use the calculator from the website http://www.healtech-electronics.com/ to find what number you need to program in. Mine was -9.1

I can confirm 9-10% faster on my speedo than what my gps reports... <sigh> WTF 4-5% I can believe, but 10% is rediculous.

If any of you are going to buy the Speedohealer. YOu best do that over the telephone. The website, as far as I can see, does not offer the SH3 cable. I ordered what I thought was the correct set up as did my brother months later. They send the SH2 cable that fits the CBR bikes. The difference between the SH2 & the SH3 is that the green and white wires need to be flipped in the 4 pin connector that plugs into the Speedohealer box. That means you have to cut off the heat shrink tubing along with other things. Let the company you are buying from you have a VTX. I wrote it in the instruction to the online store and they still sent me the wrong connector.

why in the heck are all the speedometers off? its 2008. you can buy a gps unit for under $200 that gets a signal from three satellites in outer frickin' space and honda makes an entire line of bikes that have incorrect speedometers??? WTF? there must be some "logical" reason for them to do this.
