Help with Clayton Mod on 08 1300r

I need help with the Clayton Mod on my 2008 VTX1300R. The pipes are different than the previous year models. How do you do it??

What do the pipes look like in the rear? Do they have the black cover plate like the 07' C?

I don't think so. I think the 08's are all different now. They kindof taper at the end instead of the slashdown. It isn't a big hole at the end of the exhaust like the 07'.

Just looked up the photos of the 08'. All I can say is tape the hell out of it and go slow. Dont know that it can be done with a 1/2". Might have to drop to 1/4" or 3/8".

I'm not sure if the 1300T 08 dual exhaust is the same as yours but here is what I did to mine.
Looking at the backend of the exhaust there is a 1" center tube protruding out. I took a 3/4" hole saw on a 12" extension and bored out the baffels in this tube (2) in each muffler. This keeps the "stock" look in the back and will give you a reasonable rumble. No problems with inspection or need to adjust the carb. :patriot:
