First, I preface this by saying I hate cigarettes, I hate being around them, and due to asthma if I am exposed to them I get bronchitis and I’m sick for a week. I hate how cigarette smokers litter the streets with cigarette butts on a daily basis.
That being said, what pisses me off even more is being behind a smoker who throws their damn cigarette butts out the window scattering the ashes and fire down the street and on my car. Well, since I started riding my VTX I have found it pisses me off even more!! So far 3 times I have had them thrown from the car in front of me, one hit me in the chest…her and me had a few words!! I have also had one dumb ass decide to empty his drink cup out the window at about 50 mph.
Why can’t people keep their trash and crap inside their vehicles?? Aaaaaagggggrrrrhhhh
People throwing cigarette butts out their window thinking it's not trash is a major pet peeve with me. I see it all the time here and it makes me seeth! ANYONE throwing trash out the window gets my attention too, especially on a bike. What do they think the street is, a big trash can. Here in Texas we have a website http://www.dontmesswithtexas.org/index.php where you can report litterers. I've done it on several occasions. :nono:

I hate when people do this also, they have NO consideration for others, especially bikers. They cold actually cause forest fire with that butt....why do they think car manufactors put ash trays in cars !!!

I'm a smoker, but well on my way to quiting as requested by my wife and kid's. I can not speak for other smoker's, but I know myself, I don't launch my done cig out the window of my car, hell! I'm not even allowed to smoke in the car!!! and I do not smoke when riding the X, too much to concentrate on when riding the bike and I don't need that kind of distraction. Yes, I do hate it too when a cig land in my lap from a cager or even hit's my bike. If I want a smoke I pull over for a break. Man!! Now that I think more about this, smoking has become a hassel to me. I'm done today!!! Cold Turkey!!

Maniac66,
FYI - just had a good riding buddy quit cold turkey about a month ago. He said the phyical craving is out of his sysem after about 3 days and the rest is in your head. He hasn't cheated once, says he is feeling great and is counting up the extra cash he is saving to buy more chrome.
Good luck with it!

I am a smoker and also hate it when someone launches one out the window in front of me when I'm riding! Actualy caught one that hit my face shield and returned it to the young lady (with a few words of advice) at the next stoplight! Just tossed it in her lap!

Over the years I've "returned" a number of items that were "accidently" dropped out of car windows. Often the cager will "accidently" lock his/her doors and roll up the windows when reaching for the "returned" item, so I'll thoughtfully leave it for them under the wiper blade. This works especially well when it's raining because they won't forget to retrieve the item later.
I've even "repaired" two cell phones that wouldn't work without the user's full concentration. I was able to immerse one in an aqueous solution and the other I just removed various internal parts. In both cases the users were able to then concentrate on driving.
It's funny how people have unique ways of thanking me when I do good deeds.

I also hate this, just today I had some moron flicking is ashes out the window, then to make matter even better he hocked one out, lucky for him I just changed lanes before it hit me. If it wasn't for going down the freeway at 65 he would have gotten more than my figure. To bad there isn't a way of trading places at that moment so they would know what its like.
