Sorry took so long to post but I did this to my F's stock muffs while still installed on bike made great improvement on sound.First I'll say a friend owns machine shop, but anyway had a guide made (small slug with 1/4 hole for pilot drill)to fit inside exhaust outlet then took holesaw about 1 3/4in if I remember correctly.Removed that purdy little cap ( 1top&2bottom screws only side screws are dummies)I inserted guide then proceeded to cut with holesaw once cut through welded a large nut inside outlet and used a slide hammer to remove that little tube.Tube is welded inside muff so it taks a couple whacks with slide hammer.Put dem purdy lil caps back on and yer don.If you mess up don't try to sue have baby. now I got no money

Here is a complete write up with pictures. I've done it, works really well. Actually sounds similar to jardeens.

I have a 1300S with stock pipes would like it to sound a little better with out buying new pipes. I have heard that the baffles can be drilled out. Any advise on trying this before I ruin a set of pipes?

Any FI adjustments needed for this? Do you have a power commander?

The 1300 is not FI so that should not be a problem and no power commander either.

What you did sounds like it will work but not sure my skills are up to it.
Thanks for your advise
