i was thinking about removing the rivets on mine, can you just grind them down

yes, and weld the bracket from the bottom. You'll need to do some filler and re-paint, obviously....

that CA for ya, eh????!!!! What about Auto Air products, considered using those? Wouldn't that make life easy on you?

yeah, you still need to clear it. Only thing I am familiar with is traditional urethane clears. I guess since there's no window on Auto Air you could do all your artwork, wrap it up real carefully in towels and take it to a shop that can spray the clear on it and just pay them to do it????
