Hopefully this will help everyone who may have questions about how to post photos. There are a few ways to post photos here at the site.

The simple way: Use our photo gallery and upload your photos there: http://www.vtxcafe.com/gallery/

While you are signed in at the site and are at the gallery look over on the right for "Upload Photos" and upload the photos of your choice.

http://www.vtxcafe.com/gallery/data/542/cafe1.jpg

Once the photo is uploaded it will appear, and just below the photo you will see UBBCode, copy that code and paste it anywhere in a post you are wanting that photo to appear and it will.

Another way: Upload your photos to any photo hosting service (www.photobucket.com www.snapfish.com) for example and simply copy the code provided. Or you can copy the URL of the photo you wish to post, click the [IMG]http://www.vtxcafe.com/images/styles/vtxcafe/editor/insertimage.gif image and paste the link of the photo, and again the photo will appear.

Yet another way: This method is for photos on your computer and there is a size limit to the photos that can be uploaded. While making a post scroll down below the posting area, look for manage attachments button:

http://www.vtxcafe.com/gallery/data/542/cafe3.jpg

Click it, then click browse, find the photos on your computer...you can add 5 photos per post. After you select the photos you must click the "upload" button (in blue), after the photo is uploaded close that window and complete your post. The photos will appear at the bottom of you post.

Hope that helps, any questions please post here.

Big-X, could you do an update on this info, please? There's been a few photos I'd like to post, and an "Upload Photos" button would be nice, but it's been gone for a long time. The "Manage Attachments" thing would be nice, too, but it went away with "Upload Photos".
The http://www.vtxcafe.com/images/styles/vtxcafe/editor/insertimage.gif thing is there, so I guess I'll just have to create an album on a hosting site. If there's a more direct way I'd be more inclined to use it.

Are you sure?

In the Gallery you should see upload photos....

Just as shown in this photo:

In post reply you should be able to scroll down and see the "Manage Attachments" at the bottom. I did a test on the sme user group as your account and I see them both...let me know.

Got it. Thanks. I didn't know to go to Gallery to look for it.
The site is getting BIG.
Upgrade seems to work fine.
Have a great trip.

I can see how to upload pics to the member gallery but how do you put them on your own personal photo gallery?

At the top of the page go to your Control Panel, you'll see titles on the left.

I'm sorry Shutterbug but I have no idea where to go in the headings on the left. This is all new to me.

OK, I sent you down the wrong path. For Gallery photos, look at your name in a post, for example this thread. It says junior member, Bike, Miles, Trader Rating, finally My Photo Gallery. Click on this then to the right you will see Upload Photos, then follow instructions.

Thank you Shutterbug. She's all I got andsuggestions are received by looking at photos. This is a great help. I rode her 300 (VTX) miles yesterday and my a$$ was killin' me. I will be looking at a different seat eventually. The reason say VTX miles is that the miles actually travelled was less than the miles logged on my speedo. I'm still trying to figure actual MPH but either way she is a great machine and everyday I am thankful I did not BLOW my hard earned bucks on an HD.:choppersm

I am going to my photo gallery, click on upload photos, browse my pictures on my computer, fill in the description, key words, etc then click on submit. It says successful but I do not see the photos when I go back to my photo gallery. What am I doing incorrectly??

If the photo is totally uncompressed and still a large file it will not accept it. As a test compress one a little and tray again to see if that does it.
