hey i have a vtx1800c 2006 and i was thinking about hitting up a slip on because i would love to get the big shots but i cant pony up the dough for the exhaust, forcewinder and posercommander plus im extending my foward controls. i have seen the roadhouse slip on in mags and they boast that you dont have to do any mods to the bike, just bold on and go. no problems. i can pick them up for about 350 shipped. i have also seen the d&d's on acouple of websites but cant find a single review. anyone know anything about eighter of these pipes????

When I bought my bike used it came with this on it. http://www.roadhousebrand.com/Mercha...ct_Code=52-310 (http://www.roadhousebrand.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=RBS&Product_Code=52-310)
I have not heard what the stock muffler sounds like but I like the way this makes it sound. It originally had the baffle removed but it was way too loud for my taste. So I put the baffle back in, removed the battery connection for about 15 minutes replaced the connections and have ridden it since. Not sure about the power, faster, or better fuel mileage, I kind of doubt the mileage thing because I like the way it sounds and usually do not drive it to be very fuel efficient. I was told disconnecting the battery will reset the computer and all is good. It also came with the HyperCharger already installed so I guess it does have an air mod.

I have them on my 1300R. I bought the bike with them on, so no comments compared to the stock. All of the carburation and air intake is stock. I have had several people comment that they really liked the sound. It is deep rumble and when you get on it, they are quite loud. I do get a bit of back fire on deceleration. One of my friends wont ride behind me because they are too loud for him. Bad part for him is he has to get in front of me first...

thanks alot, i was told that if you get the block off kit from barons that it will take care of the decel cracks without getting a powercommander or other fuel pros. and it is only like 30 bucks. alot better than acouple of hundered. im still contemplating on getting either the slip on or getting the cobra slash cuts. still have not decided. i more than likely wont do anything till over the winter. but we will see

Spend the extra few bucks and get a new exhaust system, you'll be alot happier or go to JC Whitney and look at their slip ons. From the posts they sound good and are a heck of a lot cheaper.

thanks man, actually i really like the look of your exhaust. i would love to find an exhaust that the rear pipe routes the way that yours does. i just installed lightning performance control reloctaion brackets and they are great. but my leg is a little close the the bend of the rear pipe and so if i get an exhaust i would like it to go like yours, straight back then i woudl not have to worry about my pants hitting the pipe

Mine are Roadburner Street Lites, the Pro Streets are the same pipes but have end caps, On mine you can remove the baffles and you can't on the pro street. They are a great pipe and made by the same company that makes Hard Krome pipes but cheaper and they have a 1 year warranty on their chrome which most don't. You can find them on sale at time for a little more than slip-ons, I paid $341 for mine delivered.
