Just wanted to drop a line and say how happy I am with my new VTX. Just bought a 2006 VTX 1300C. Black and chrome.

I rode sport bikes for 8 years and after a very bad wreck and a couple years of no riding I bought a 1991 Honda Shadow VT1100. Had it for a month and hated it. Rode rough and thought I just would never get a cruiser. Buddy brought his 05 VTX 1300C over last weekend. I took it for a ride and a week later bought the same model.

I was taken back at the agility of the bike seeing that it is 700 - 800 lbs. I was also suprised how smooth it rode.

Hoping to talk to the whole lot of you folks and looking forward to all the information that can be had. Great site!! Kick ass bike!!

I'm in Cape Coral a couple of hours South of you. Rode to Clewiston and around Lake Okeechobee with a friend from Ft Lauderdale yesterday and...no love bugs!! Maybe we'll see you on the road.

It can be adjusted at the other end. When you take it in for the 600 mile service, have the wrench adjust it then. Make sure he changes what you did on the handle end and takes up all the slack at the engine end. That way if it gets a little loose over time, you can do some minor adjusting. You should not have more than 1/4" of play.

Congrat's,now replace the junk stock seat with either a mustang,or the ultimate X.Change the stock grips with kury ISO grips, and a throttle boss.Your hands will love you for it.Now get a back rest and rack.National cycle makes one that is removable,so you can still keep the custom styling when riding alone.

Hello all,
New owner and member of an 05 1300c {black}, here in South Carolina. Just went over 400 miles and have loved every mile ;). I was just wondering what your thoughts are on the 600 mile inspection my stealer wants $ 185.00 dollars for. I enjoy a piece of mind, but listening to the stealer stories I am wondering if I should just do it myself?
Thanks in advance,

Man my 600 inspection was $335 and change! But I bought the service agreement and ext warrenty, so I didn't have to drop a dime. I'll tell ya, it gave me a good piece of mind to know that the bike broke in just right and had a clean bill to start on some long rides. I always say do the preventive maint and you'll always be on the road, were we all want to be.
