I dont know how but WHY would you want to????? I have only hit the limit 2 or 3 times and that was by accident, and it seems that was past the power band anyhow. it must be there for a reason and I would hate to find out what would happen if those 2 big pistons came to an abrupt stop.

I agree with ROSHOLT1. There is no reason to go beyond the preset limit. Most folks looking to go fast that don't have a tach use the following shift points. 30, 60, 80, and 110. I've been in the 12's shifting at those point on the drag strip. If you are hitting the limiter in 5th you have a lot more open country where you live than I do. And good luck.

Picture two 4in pistons coming to say hello to your private parts. Hence the rev limiter. If you can't get this bike to move without hitting the rev limiter you might want to go buy a crotch rocket. Then you can rev to your hearts content.

If you look at a dyno run, both horsepower and torgue are heading straight down where the Rev Limiter cuts in (about 5750 RPM). Thus why in the world would you want your RPM to go higher?

If you want your bike to go faster, shift before you hit the Rev Limiter.

This may help you http://www.hondadirectlineusa.com/pics/DYN-10200166.jpg All though you really don't need to rev you motor to much higher then it already is.

Never imagined hitting it.
Then I raced a buddy with a screamin eagle. I hit in in first which freaked me out. Then again in second. What a race!!
I don't plan on doing that too much, but I had my pride to save.

Just shift a little sooner and you will burn that Eagles feather until he's screaming. :D

We had ridden almost 200 miles that day with a group, and I led almost all of it.
Finaly at a stop light, I said "why dont you go first and I'll try and keep up" (wink wink).
He led out slowly at first, and I didn"t expect him to get into it. When he did, I didn"t even have time to tell my wife to hold on tight. He had a two car lead and 1 less rider. Even after hitting the rev in two gears, I still caught him in 4th gear, and about 1oo plus mph.
I would like to run him off the line some time!

the rev limiter or speed limiter? if its a speed limiter its usally mated for the tires that came with the vehicle, if you have stock tires you dont wanna turn it off.

I have hit the rev limiter many times, and as was stated, you always have more power if you shift before you get to it. So that's my advice...don't hit it.

Yep!!!!..Short shift it...Use the engine's awesome low end torque to smoke him..These things aren't made to rev high..Lots of big, expensive parts in there to break..Like Retro Rocket said..The thought of a 4" piston and connecting rod coming apart that's pointed at my crotch is enough to make me leave the rev limiter hooked up...It's there for a GOOD reason...
