Call me stupid but I can't figure out how to adjust my shift pedal. I need to move it up a little to give some more room for the boot. I'm not an idiot but I didn't want to start cranking on stuff.

I noticed a nut on the end of the rod. Do I loosen that or is it something else altogether?

now now dont be to hard on yourself, loosen the nut slide the shifter off and move it up 1 or 2 splines on the shaft

you have to take the side cover off.the cover i'm talking about is behind your shifter.it comes off by unscrewing the allen heads.then you can adjust your shifter.loosen the nuts on the shifting rod,and turn the rod, you'll see the shifter move up or down, depending upon which way you move it.then tighten down the nuts, and put the cove back on.

Finally, somebody has revealed the secret.
I bought the VTX repair manual and it did not say one thing about adjusting the shifter. THANK YOU FOR THE TIP.

I tried the same nut loosening and it didn't work, so I was going to take off the cover like you said. So, now I gotta take the whole shifter off and re-apply it in a different cog on the pivot.....right???

I got it adjusted. I pulled the cover off loosened the nuts on both ends of the rod and turned the rod. Shift lever moved. Tightened down the nuts. Put the cover on. Rock and roll.
