I saw a VTX R with a licence plate that layed down flat against the fender. I've been looking for one but can't find any. Anyone know where I may be able to get this?
I've got one on mine and love it. I did not like the billboard lic. plate holder on the stock bike. Here's the link to what I have on my bike: http://hondadirectlineusa.com/stores/product.asp?pid=2639&str=13&ID=363842165
Lot's of great stuff at Honda Direct Line.

What I did is there is a mod using a backing plate from HD (Thick Heavy Chrome) and Plate Trim (Heavy Chrome) make a template of the three holes... drill them and mount it done... I will see if I have the part numbers and this heavy duty chrome lay down plate was close to what you will pay ordering the lay down set up only thing it isn't stainless.
Let me check my info and will update

Like I said this is heavier than anything I have seen so far and it didn't cost a ton. You can't even see my plate in this picture but shows how it lays down at leasthttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/ejk002/WhiteWalls567x348.jpg

Try this quick mod from Kuryakyn.
Just drill 3 holes to line up with your existing holes and bolt 'er on.
Pretty good for $15.95.
Look at mine in the avatar.

Installed last night. Easy install (0 on a 1-5 scale). Looks great with polished stainless on visible surface.
Gets rid of the obsurd stock 'billboard' mount and cleans up the fender nicely.
If the big adds are too expensive or painful, this makes you feel good for $20 bucks.
