I've just got my first bike and I need to know which are the best forward controls for a VTX1300C. I'm 6'-8" 295 pounds and I need at least 4 more inches (no less). I tried the Highway Hawk but they dont work very well, problem with the adjustment of the brakes and the shifter link broked few times already. I been thinking in Accutronix, Mapam or Jardine. Anyone with a good idea will be appreciated.

Thanks

With your hieght you probably want the Accutronix controls. I have the Mapam's and they work okay for me 6' but I wish I would have went with the Accutronix for more leg stretch

You can check ebay user troonsouth. he sells accutronix at a great price. I picked up a set new in august. new in package. saved almost $500.

I'm 6'3 and needed the room. pushed out controls a good 5". totaly different feel to the bike now( 04 1300C) best money I spent. quality second to none.

Take a trip to a custom shop to get a close look at them. I couldn't belive the quality.

Good luck!

Ed

im 6'6", just put jardine forward controls on works good. moved control 4.5 inches forward, $500 dollars from xtremerevolution.com. i you have after market pipes, they can be a snug fit. i had to trim part of the pipe to help fit.

What might you be doing with the stock controls?

I've got the Supreme Ledgens Pro Smooth on my bike that come with there own brake master. These would be simple to modify to go to almost any rise or length you may need. There about $795.00 at Xtreme Revoultion.

i'm assuming you guys allready had the stock forwards controls? I'm only five foot eight and i still feel like they are too close, i'd like to move them 2-3 inches forwards, what kit would you guys reccomend?

Not really the bike I put the forward controls on is a 2004 S model with floorboards. The mounting bolts are in the same location. The Acuutronix brake control would have been to close to the front retro fender for comfort.
