Great product from a class act group......bought a 2003 VTX 1800 in
2005 (used)...bike had 2 piece Ultimate seats...wanted to finish out the set with backrests/pouches/covers...contacted the crew (DES, Bridgette, Victoria) and they gave it a good run using E-mail, pictures, phone calls and measurements...and when all was said and done I had a product that matched up completely (style, type of vinyl, stitching, etc..). Not a whole lot else I can say, except THANKS!!! Awesome product/service!!!
Another Ultimate seat fan here! I've had my Ultimate Lowrider with driver backrest for 6 months now and it's sooooooooo comfortable. It did lower me and bring me closer to the tank which is a good thing. GREAT product and it looks pretty sharp too!

Just wanted to again say many thanks to Des and the crew and to post
a few pics of their product. Again, can not say enough for this product and
the service from this group.
Also check out the photo gallery for the many different looks (and comfort) that the Ultimate provides. Mer, Corley, NC Hammer, PearlWhiteVTX,
Big-X are just a few of the many members out there with these seats.

Just got my lowrider put on my 1300C. Looks great, going on a ride Sunday. Hope it feels as good as it looks.
Just got back from a 300 mile ride. The Ultimate lowrider was great. Recommend it to everyone.

Got my Ultimate bigboy seats and my azz is greatful I did. Riding 350miles is not a problem. Next thing is to get a handlebar riser so I can sit up straighter on the backrest.

Thanks for the recommendation, this is the seat I'm going to go with.
The question becomes is there any difference in ordering it directly from Ultimate Seats or would ordering from Direct Line be better since they have free shipping?

Difference would be if you have a sissy bar, or if you wanted to customize your seat. When you order from Ultimate they will ask about sissy bar, because not all sissy bars are seat "friendly". But Directline is having a heck of a sale right now!

Okay here's a question that y'all can help me out with.
In purchasing this ultimate seat, I know I can't get a special color on the "X" and for $100+ off I can live with the stock silver, but what about the drivers back rest? I have a back rest for my bike that I purchased when I purchased the bike as my wife asked if I was going to get her a helmet; which told me to get a sissy bar for it.
Now I must admit that when I look at the pics with the drivers backrest I think to myself; that's just freakin' odd looking. However I'm a functional/practical person and if it's going to produce a more comfortable ride, I'm in with the odd look.
Is a drivers backrest really functional/practical or is it just kind of odd looking?

Not odd looking (in my opinion) but it's well work the money. I have a bad back and couldn't imagine riding without it.

The ultimate seat has been ordered, with the 20% off that was just to decent of a deal to pass up. Thanks everyone for pointing me in the right direction.

If I had known about directline, I probably would have got there, without the custom stitching for the prices.

Well I ordered the seat last Saturday. Monday before they get the order, so what can you expect on a time frame for shipping? I ordered highway bars and grips from Phats on Wednesday and I received the shipping notice yesterday. Is directline typically slow in processing orders? No, I didn't use paypal because their site said that would delay the order a few days.

A friend of mine ordered one a couple of weeks ago for his 1300C. From talking with him, it looks like there is about a one month time frame. It appears that the Ultimate seats are made as they are ordered from customers.

From my own personal experience, Directline takes about a week just to process the order, then another week for shipping.
I ordered a backrest for my ultimate from directline (free shipping ) when they placed the order with ultimate they called me (ULTIMATE) to ask the measurements of the bolt hole on my sissy bar before they shipped it. The shipping took about the same amount of time as it did when i ordered the seat directly from Ultimate. They come from Canada and sometimes they get hung up in customs. Good luck --------awsome product and SUPER service:beer:
