Sergio, that fairing is not for me but I do see a few things to change. The flow from the headlight to the top of the shield, in profile, is not real smooth. I personally like to see a nice flowing line. Yours it to blunt over the headlight and to sharp at the base of the shield. Just look at the side view and you will see it is way to high in front over the headlight. I was going to use one of your pictures and redraw a line but it wouldn't let me save the pic to use in photoshop.

Sergio,
First off, I would take whole thing back to the drawing board and REMOVE that darn (in my opion) idiotic looking ridge on the centerline. smooth it off.

secondly you have got to make some sort of liner as well. A stereo and two speakers would make it look great as well as/or a small, lockable glovebox or pouch.

Third. Lower the price to around 200 dollars and you will make a killing. four digit price tag will not make it in the markets i think your looking to hit. the VTX is a $7000 to $16,000 zone not a $20000 to $40000 zone.

I am in agreement with the 2 post above the ridge down the center is no good it breaks up smooth lines and centers the attention on the fact that the fairing looks like a big fish coming in and swallowing the headlight. The lines coming into and around the headlight need to be a little smoother.

I also thing the inside will need some kind of lining or something. all that unfinished space would just make me stare at it looking for dirt and other imperfections when I should be looking at the road. I friend of mine just got a fairing for his Yamaha that was unfished on the inside and yea you can't see it from the outside but when you ride his bike you notice it right away and it makes you think "what a half A@@ unfinished piece of (*&^!"

I would agree with the above posts. The blunt edge at the headlight is not ideal. I also agree 100% on the unfinished back side. If I was going to pay over $1000 I would expect a lot more. Also in regards to the price, I would think that if a person was going to spend that kind of money on an aftermarket piece they would be better off upgrading to an OEM touring bike such as an Ultra or Venture. Just my cents.

Mike,
Spoke to my R&D tech and he tells me that the mounting hardware has 3/8 of a inch adjustment. The headlight can also be adjusted by adding a washer to get the desired gap space.Thanx

Presently sitting on a Corbin solo and was pleasantly surprised because initially the seat seemed pretty hard. Now I wonder how I drove without! The point I am making is the odd centerline may be one of these Corbinesque engineering ideas that allows better airflow and stabilization. I would have liked to have seen the fairing matched to the bike instead of what appears to be a clunky add on. The beetle bags Corbin manufactures adds to the flowing lines of the 1300R, this fairing appears to do the opposite. Sorry!:spank:

If your talking to me, it isn't the gap between the headlight, it is the blunt turndown on the front above the headlight. There is no "flow" from front to the top of the shield. More like missmatched angles and curves. Head-on it looks pretty good but from the side profile it just doesn't work.

I love Corbin products. Only problem is the price.

The Corbin fairing I want was $599 in the Corbin 2003 printed catalogue. Now it is $1299. There should be no reason for such a drastic price increase.

I'd jump on it for $599 but can't at $1299.

Anyway you can get us a discount? ;0)

One of the issues people have with Corbin is the extreme price and the unfinished product look. The fairing that they have listed is 1400.00 base price and is not finished and looks too much like an afterthought. I would have actually considered this if they would have made more of a effort. One of the reasons people go with fairings is that they want a better fit for touring, placing GPS, radio or extras. I am surprised by Corbins lack of investigation on this product.

This is the fairing I was referring to. I was wrong about the price. It's $1399. I dont see how you can justify that price for such a small fairing.

Your talking about the "Alien head fairing" what I loving call this work of art. I guess you need to see it in person to tell if you like it. 1400.00 for a wind deflector that is still unfinished seems pretty high to me. I think they should have encorporated the turn signals and the headlight completely. I would like to see a custom paint job of the alien head super imposed LOL Corbin is located in Hollister California and I am tempted to go to the Hollister rally in July to stop by the plant.
