Great looking and sounding pipes; make sure you have all the hardware included when you open up your box (some people have had missing bracket, bolts, etc. historically). Make sure to wipe them down clean, wax them good and wipe them down again before you start it up the first time and get them hot. Any fingerprints, smudges, etc. will bake right into the chrome the first time you get them hot. Use new exhaust crush gaskets, torque the exhaust studs at the head on re-install to 17 ft. lbs, re-tighten/torque again after the first 100-150 miles roughly. Using some anti-seize on your exhaust studs is a good idea as well.

And replace the crush gaskets.....ohhh you said that already. Well, it's worth saying again.

I really like the Jug Huggers. Can anyone give me an idea about the sound with the baffles installed? Or do you know of a link with a sound file?

I heard the Bub Jug Huggers on Pat's bike today. All I can say is they look and sound great. You won't be sorry if anybody goes that route.

I installed a set of jug huggers on my 2006 1300c . I really love the looks, much cleaner look and the sound is killer. Im not sure what crush rings are unless its the spiral ring the exaust came with not real sure but the directions just said to use the spiral ring I hope this is correct . The exaust seems to be working great though, a sure way to announce your arrival.

http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_11.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxmk762MSUS) I'm a little bias when it come to the Bub Jug Huggers. I think they are the best looking and sounding pipe out there. They have a nice rich low sound to them & loud, but not too obnoxious. Just my 2 cents.

I could swear I read somewhere to never wax chrome, that it has to breathe etc... is that true or was someone trying to sell their chrome polish? lol

Could have been; I've never read that one before. I did this to mine and have never had a problem some 3K miles and a lot of weather later.

I'm in the process of installing these on my 1800, mine came with all the hardware needed, however one of the spiral rings was the wrong size and would not fit into the flange grove. waiting for a new set from Bub.

The crush gasket is like a donut gasket on a vehicle, it helps seal the exhaust so it don't leak where it mates to the engine, not the same as the spiral rings...

They will make you smile for sure. I love them, even with baffles. LEO's are starting to crack down on loud pipes here, so I hesitate to take the baffles out.
You will swear there's no crush gaskets when you get the old ones off, but they are there. Just take care not to gouge the head getting them out. Order new ones with the pipes. About $7.
I just used windex on the pipes and made sure they were dry.
The bottom front stud is a beeeotch to get out. You'll peroably need a Universal joint to get the socket in there. The pipes are at least half the weight of the stockers. Sound is incredible.

Man I like mine and cant imagine running without baffles..........loud enough now. All my friends say they have a great sound, good deep sound.
Installation is not that difficult but the instruction suck, look on line and down instruction.

Google them and find the cheapest price, then go to Honda Direct Line.
They will beat the lowest price you find, and give you free freight.
I would suggest calling instead of placing an internet order, to insure they are in stock and get an ETA.
The crush gaskets are behind the exhaust flange in the head, not the spiral ring that holds the header on.
The instructions kind of suck, so I recommend visitng the Bub Club website for photos of the installation.

got mine about two weeks ago from Hellriser customs. They beat the price quote from motorcyclemart.com. In total, I paid $473.50 after shipping. I think that prices have gone up about $20 since I ordered mine. I waited about 3 weeks due to a backorder. I'm not disappointed with the looks and sound.

Hey Folks! Are all of you re-jetting with installation?
tony2006
07-29-2008, 10:15 PM
no i didnt re-jet. im sure it would probably run better if i did, but the difference in power with just the pipes was great. i also have a friend with a retro and he didnt re-jet either. i guess its just up to you.

All I did was shim the throttle pin and adjust my fuel air mixture screw.

Unless you change your airbox, there shouldn't be a need to rejet.
I just backed out my AF screw about a half turn and it runs great.
