The area comprising southwestern North Carolina, northwestern South Carolina and northeast Georgia has some of the most spectacular scenery -- and hence some of the most interesting roads -- you'll find anywhere. The main area of interest is roughly bordered by I-26 on the east, S.C. 11 to the south, U.S. 441 to the east and U.S. 74 to the north. Outside this area, the territory gets either more touristy, less accessible or less mountainous, depending on which direction you're going in. The region is well- deserving of the name "God's Country".
