For those of us that don't much care for the Dunlops, I just got an email reply from Metzeler and they are in the process of making our 140/80-17 68H front tire. They already makes a rear tire for our 1300 retro the ME880 Marathon 170/80-15 B 77H.

Here's their reply:

"Hello

Metzeler is currently developing this size front ME880 tire with estimated
time to market of Spring 2006. Please have your favorite dealer put it on
back order for you in the near future.

IMO get rid of the OEM Dunlops ASAP. I still can't believe that Honda puts them on what is otherwise a great machine. Someone at Honda must be getting rich off that deal. There's just no other possible reason.

I happen to like ME880s but anything will be an improvement.

Now they just have to make Wide White Walls. Mabey by the time I install and wear out the ones I have in the basement. Although, it seems that the Dunlop WWW are made differently. I know the rear is about 1/4" wider than the black (same stock size). I found this out the hard way when the pipe bracket cut into the sidewall. I haven't heard anyone complain about them yet. I have about 15,000 on the front and it still looks good.
