Should this happen

Went for the first long ride in hot weather this year this past Saturday, the air temp in Columbia,SC -Charlotte,NC was around 88-90 degrees
I rested my left heel against the crankcase and man was it hot!!
S0 I tested all around the engine and it was plain HOT Except the cooling fins were warm to the touch, but all the chrome was blazing......should I be concerned or is this normal?

It can be above 110 in the shade here in Phoenix, everything is hot. Never took any notice. Is your cooling fan running constantly?

If you've got coolant in the reservoir tank and your temp/overheat light isn't coming on, should be ok. Do you hear the cooling fan kick in or running when you're just sitting and idling?
