Just curious how many of you use the throttle boss with your ISO grips? If so when do you find yourself using it the most?

I have them on both my 1300r and 1800 interstate. I use it almost everytime I ride, great product. Sure is a lot of help on trips.

Thanks for the information
Once you put it on you'll wonder how you ever ot along without it before. It makes a big difference in the control you have of the throttle.

Do you guys use it on the left side to?
I haven't tried it on the left side yet but some of the guys I ride with do have both and like it. Either way I haven't heard any negitive complaints from those that have them, weather single or duel set ups.

Awesome! Use it all the time. Rest my wrist on it, and go...

The one on the left is basicly for looks, but one may get some comfort from it

I'll try it on the throttle side first and see how it goes. Thanks.

I ordered mine from Kuryakyn, didn't want to deal with back orders. You may find then a little cheaper elsewhere but at only 17.00 each I didn't bother to check.

16.95 is the only price I have been able to find them at. Getting one next week.
Great product! I had a Throttle Rocker on my first bike (ACE) and was looking for a nicer looking alternative. They look really nice and work great! I don't have one on the left. I never really saw the need.

I love these things on long rides as well as short ones. Go ahead and get a pair. You'll get a better price and I don't think the bike looks right with just one. This also adds to the chrome in the grip area. They look great on the ISO grips. :icon_2gun :icon_2gun

Xtreme Revoultion has the best prices on everything I've got on my VTX. Check em out a Xtreme Revoultion.com I would look into the PAIR price. Don't look right with just one. :icon_2gun

I had an throttle rocker on my stock grips It was a good thing for what it cost.I just put on new iso grips with throttle boss on both side and stelletto end caps. They look great. Now I just need my rims back from the chrome shop and some spring weather.

Ok Folks, I'm going to show my lack of knowledge here. I gather from the posts here and looking at the throttle boss on the Xtreme Revolution site, that this is some form of throttle lock like a cruise control. Am I at least on first base here?
The ISO grips looks pretty nice, and if the throttle boss seems worthwhile, I would certainly entertain the thought of adding these to my VTX 1800 F. However, my lack of mechanical skill leaves me to ask how involved is it to replace the grips and add the throttle boss?
I would certainly appreciate any assistance here.
Thanks!

Hey Jim,
The throttle boss is nothing more than a place to rest the heal of your hand so you can relax your grip on the throttle and allow your hand to rest while maintaining throttle position (speed). It can be installed on the left side as well. Some like it there too but I didn't find it necessary. Both grips and throttle boss are fairly easy to install. Cut the old grips off with a razor knife then just get the new grips in place quickly before the applied glue sets up. 4 small allen screws (supplied) to attach the boss on the grips end. Read instructions and you shouldn't have a problem. I'm sure you'll like 'em.
The whole job is very easy. Cut the old grips off, slide the new ones on. The boss replaces the end cap on the new grips (4 screws) and that's it. The boss is not a throttle lock, it's just a place to rest the palm of your hand and lets you streach your fingers when needed without letting off on the gas.

Thanks for the replys on the Thottle Boss. I can certainly see where having a rest for your wrist (try saying that fast 3 times!) would be nice. I just finished a 150 mile ride this morning and I sure could have used something. I've got a throttle lock, but I only use it when I need to stretch my wrists out after a long time.

Ditto here. Best $20 I've spent. Helps on long distance runs. Have it on the throttle side although I've seen it on both sides (esthetics maybe?)

I use one on the right side as well and I find it really makes a difference. Most of my riding is long distance stuff and it relieves that extra pressure on the meaty part of your hand. I put another product on the left side instead which I also find very useful. It's made for ISO grips and also looks very good on the bike. Its a helmet lock. I needed one because mine is tucked under my side bags. If I remember right it wasn't very expensive (50 bucks I think) and works like a charm. If you always lean the bike to the left when parked, there is no way your helmet will hit your tank.

can the Throttle Boss be used with Kuyakyn grips with stiletto ends?

You can use any end on the iso grips with the throttle boss. The throttle boss goes between the end of the grip and the end cap :patriot: :icon_peac
