Any Date will be fine with me after JUNE 22nd. And Goldsmith must go. Lets plan on at least two full days. Charleston SC.to Norfolk VA. UP HWY. 17 or maybe even NAGS HEAD. Man I don't care where we go. I really enjoyed the last one, Even in the rain. Hell why don't we do a summer ride in AUG. Maybe go north. Check on Rich and some of the OHIO Crowd. and then do a fall ride also, Maybe in OCT. Ride the coast. What yall think?? GG :D

You might want to take into consideration that Myrtle Beach bike week is October 3-7. If your planning on going during that time, you need to make reservations early. I would suggest staying in Charleston and then riding up to MB for the day(it only takes about 1 1/2 hours. It's a lot less crowded in Charleston and the ride up US 17 is awesome. How about going down on Friday the 5th(maybe meet in Columbia), riding up to MB on Saturday, and heading back home on Sunday?

We always hit MB spring and fall..love it...if the guys are up for a day there its cool with me !! I am up for anything or anywhere..BB ;) although I'd prefer staying in MB..I know a nice place where we can get rooms for about 116.00 a night...not too bad considering its beach front and has a secure covered parking garage..SPEAK UP FELLAS !!!!!!!

How about Franklin? There's some decent riding around there(The Dragon and Cherohala loop is about a 150 miles).
A couple of great restaurants like the Steak Barn for supper and Stamie's for breakfast(trust me, it's worth the ride just to eat there).
Gem mining, if you're into that sort of stuff. Harrah's not too far away.
Just a thought...Open for suggestions.

Just throwing some ideas out there.
How about Franklin, NC. Meet up on Hwy 11 somewhere Saturday, September 1. Ride up to Franklin, Check into hotel(I'm looking for a good and inexpensive motorcycle friendly place), grab some dinner at the Steak Barn, then maybe ride up to Cherokee and check out the casino, a show(Unto These Hills is a great long running show), or just hang out at a local watering hole. Sunday morning, grab some breakfast at Stamey's, then do the Dragon and Cherohala loop(its' about 150 mile trip) Then head our separate ways home.
Another thought is to do the same thing, but do a Friday and Saturday instead. That way we have Sunday to recover from the ride.
Let me know what you all think.

I called the Two Wheel Inn and they have 5 rooms available for Friday, August 31 and 4 rooms for Saturday, September 1.
I can get off of work early, so my preference would be Friday night, but that's just me.

That's a good point. I called the Two Wheel Inn and they have 9 rooms available for Friday, August 24. Also, most of the rooms have 2 beds so singles could room up if some wants to.
How does this sound to everybody?

ok..I just called back to the Two wheel inn...they still have nine rooms, she said they require 1st night as deposit, so we'll have to pay for the night when we call. Last time I was able to hold some with just my card number(then we changed weekends..lol), but we'll each have to call this time the number is 828-479-4248.

She did say they have the same number available for saturday if we end up changing the day..but we defiately need to call by this friday..so lets pm the peeps who went last time and see if they want to go and hopefully some others will see the post and let us know too..
she did also say there is a micro motel about 2 miles away if more than 9 of us go, or if they don't want to share a room. Hope this helps some..BB :)

Plus our 13th anniversary is in Oct. and I was thinking about surprising Laura and closing one sat. and going on a hot air balloon ride. I was thinking...leave Travelers rest..take 276 into waynesville..pickup 19 to Cherokee...then into robbinsville from there....that way its all mountain riding and no interstate......maybe a little longer,,,but Isn't the ride what we're going for...lol...whatcha think...BB :)

Well, our and GG longest stretch will be from home to travlers rest..about 3 hrs and 15 minutes...it's only 2 to 2 1/2 hours from there to Robbinsville if I remember correctly...(thats going the back way thru brevard, parkway then I think 19 to robbinsville). If we meet up at travelers rest around 11:00 am that would put us there at least by 3:00 with plenty of time to ride the dragon and further before dark..
That puts us leaving home between 7:30 and 8:00 , I am just guessing but around the same for GG...I'd prefer it be light when we left..all of our first three hours are on the interstate. Does that sound OK..BB :)

the first route is the one I was talking about..we usually take that one...the second looks NICE also..different scenery and a little shorter too....either is fine with me...SO..was around 11:00 in TR ok.. that will still put us in robbinsville by 3:00, plenty of time to ride some more..sound good !!

Hey guys...hubby said he read someplace there arn't many places to eat in Robbinsville , I called the woman at the inn ...she said there are four resturants and three or four fast food places...she said nothing super fancey but good food...OH..and if anyone cares, its a DRY county..so if either of these things does not suit anyone...speak up or suggest another place (town) to stay in...I hadn't even thought about eating..I was thinking about riding..lol...anyway..speak up if there any other suggestions or places anyone wants to stay..I am good with anyplace...lol...BB :)

I like route number two. The ride up 178 is very nice.
I'd say leaving TR at 11 am should be fine. I can be there anytime, but of course, it's only 20 minutes away for me.

Hey guys..as of 4:30 pm..all the rooms are booked at the Two wheel inn...for friday August 24, 2007..some from our g roup and another g group booked today also from alabama.....Did some checking for those of you who want to come...
There is a Microtel Inn two miles from two wheel inn...they have seven rooms with a queen bed available for that night at 74.95 + tax...there number is 888-771-7171...she did also have a few with two queen beds for 89.95 per night....
Looks good...from the pics on the net...and only two miles from us and they have complimentary breakfast...lol...Hope this helps out anyone else wanting to come...BB :)

I think she is going to ride up with me, but as of now, she is going to sit out the dragon slaying at the Two Wheel Inn. But that's fine with me. At least she is going....I think, lol.
