I am totally confused about what I want to do with a new customer seat for my vtx 1300R. I am obviously looking at Corbin's, Ultimate's and Mustang's. All seem like good seats, but I am concerned most with the feel and comfort.
I wish there was a place to be able to try all three? In the absense of that, what is the experience of people on the list trying more than one of these?

I had Badx fix my stock seat. He cut out allot of the foam to reshape the seat to sit better. The seat still looks almost stock but lowers me on the bike about 2 inchs and moved me back about 2 inchs also. I can ride all day now without any monkey butt and for 30 bucks it has been the best bang for the buck. I'll try to post a picture of it if I can figure out how to do that.

I had a Mustang seat on the bike and it moved me up and forward on the bike but it felt good on the butt but I just couldn't stand sitting that high on the bike so I re-shaped the stock seat to sit like the Mustang but it lowered me and moved me back which is what I was wanting.

I had a Mustang and now have an Ultimate...great choice. The Mustang had me right on the gas tank.

I had the ultimate and was very happy until last season it just didnt seem comfortable any longer so i have a new mustang for the summer. The people at ultimate told me if the seat got wet more than twice and was not properly dried it could ruin the memory foam.

I have the Mustang on my 13R and I have been very pleased with it.
Your best bet is to attend one of the larger rallies, Myrtle Beach, Daytona, or the Honda Hoot in TN. All the vendors will be there to let you try 'em out...T:patriot:

I have 2 custom seats from Corbin.
YoungGuns and Dual Tour.
Both are very well made long lasting seats.
The thing to keep in mind about with Corbin is, their seats are firm. So they conform to your butt over time (they say approx 1500 miles of riding).
They do not leave a visible butt impression though :)
Mustangs are softer and so are Ultimate. So it comes down to your butt and what you want in the long run and what your back needs in the long run.
As for my butt, it likes the Corbin, but, I am also going to be selling our own line of seats with gel pads built right in. For those with harder seats and you don't have the money to buy a new softer seat, we sell portable gel pads that you throw on top of your seat before the ride. They are awsome.
Look for them on our site by this weeks end.
Hope that info helped

Speaking of the ultimate seats, who offers the best price?
