Another Starting Issue

This problem is intermittent; usually happens after the bike sits for a couple of days. I turn the key on and everything lights up, including the "neutral" indicator, and when I press the start button all lights go off and no starter action. The really weird part is that after I coast the bike a bit or try to clutch start it, the electrical system suddenly comes back to life and the bike starts and runs fine. Someone suggested a possible problem with the sensor that disables the starter when not in neutral. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Problem fixed. Pinched wire from new seat installation.

Glad to hear it is fixed. I was oging to sugest you check the battery connections and wires. Always look to the battery if, when you turn on the key the odometer trip meter has reset. If A and B trip meeters read zero then you ahve a bad connection.
