I am replacing the left crankcase cover. After removing all the bolts, i tried pulling the cover straight away from the bike. Unlike the right side which comes right off, there is a spring like resistance. When I seperate the cover about an inch I can see the gears/sprockets behind the cover. I have stopped the process until I get more information. My fear is that the resistance is the crankshaft and somehow in pulling the cover off it will mess up the gears/sprockets. Has anyone removed theirs and did it all fall apart when you did.
