i wanna do a pair valve removal and once that is complete i wanna do the scar method . i have been wrenching on cars for 20yrs and do run a parts store but when it comes to bikes im clueless i have new pipes and air cleaner cover on the way and wanted to get these done before that goes on so i dont have a hornets nest to deal with trying to tune the thing i plan to print both the scar and pair procedures but im still shakey about it

Let me tell ya, if I can do it I know you can. Guarantee you it will take you less time than it took me to both of these mods. Just follow both procedures, dont get in a hurry and you will do just fine.

Sit back, grab a wrench and enjoy it. Wrenching on my bike is more fun than tuning a race motor. Well for me it is. Seems more enjoyable. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

I did mine...made a few goofs and re-did it but follow the directions and you should be fine. Simple really.

If you can work on a car, you can work on your bike. Simple as that...it's just a little different, but not much. An engine is an engine, just look at it that way.

I wouldn't worry about it. If you have mechanical skills it'll be easy. Take your time, print out some instructions and you'll be fine.

I never worked on a bike before this one, but I've worked on all my cars and I'm a machine mechanic for packaging equipment and I didn't have any problems. I've done all my own work on my bike. I was a little nervous also when I started.

the pair instructions for 1800 arent that close for 1300 . i figured everything out but it took 3 hrs to do this lost 2 rubber pieces in the process one for back edge of tank ..nowhere to be found . and the other for where the dash slips on the tank bracket again nowhere to be found. there really is no secondary air system on the old carburated 1300 that i seen , other than the back of the airbox and that dosent look like the 1800 one either . anyway got it done capped off the outlet on airbox and there was a line that ran from pair to a t then to carb and crank case capped the one from pair , so all total i took out pair 2 long hoses that were attached 2 short and a metal line so hopefully i did everything right , starts and runs so will see i guess:mad:
