First question---did you install (or have the shop install) the jet kit that came w/ the Hyper? If so, that's the first problem. The jetting is all wrong (too large of a main, too small of a pilot). My recommendation is to get the jet kit out of there, put your stock pilot (Keihin 55) and stock main (Keihin 195) back in there, do the "Scar" method of carb tuning and start with your A/F mix at 2&1/2 turns. You can use 2-3 shims with a Kury Hyper and the "Scar" method. If you're still lean after the scar method, you can start experimenting with larger main and pilot jets. But, the "Scar" method will get you on the road and running properly.

The jet kit that came with you Cobra Pipes (stage 1 kit) is also useless for you as well. Sorry about the news, but the above-noted info. is the only way to get your bike running properly.

have to agree with Retro Rich, but I think he got the kury jetting backwards I got the 65 slow and a 185 main in my kit and it sucked big time.

go to the 1300 forum and read the sticky on carb tune by Scar

Yep, I did Charlie...that's what I get for doing this stuff while I'm at work :) . Pilot's too big and main's too small in the Kury kit.
