I went to check out the gap in my spark plug and the condition of the plug. I did't think I was pulling on the wire then "pop" I was holding the wire in my hand and the rubber cap was still in my bike! The wire was totally disconnected in my in my hand.

I put the wire back into the rubber cap and it seemed to run alright... HOW BAD did I goon this up! Do I need to get a set of new wires? If so how hard is that to replace?

Thanks for ANY help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should be fine; you can use a little high temp silicone if you want to "hold" the boot onto the wire...if you want. All it is is an insulator and moisture protector against the top of the plug, which also holds the wire in place. You didn't hurt anything IMHO. I've done it before on cars, put it back together and never had a problem.

there was nothing at the end of the black wire.. It was flat with a hole at the end!

all you have to do is push it back into the boot. the plug connector, for lack of a better word, has a point on it inside the boot that will push into the wire.

I pulled mine out 2 years ago...pushed it back in and I haven't had any trouble.

you need to do a little more then just push it back in
..the wire and the ends are sold seperately..the boot has a screw in the end...you need to screw the boot onto the wire ,the screw will embed itself in the conductor in the center of the wire giving a tight electrical connnection. Just pushing it back in does not ensure proper contact

You could try pulling the other plug wire to the cylinder and running it. It won't run 100% but it shouldn't miss. If it misses the boot doesn't have enough connectivity.

I will give that a try tonight.... Thanks!
