So I tryed doing the Scar mod tonight, hoping that it would help with the bike running like crap in the lower end after modding my air box a bit. The bike is an 06' 1300C, K&N filter, slightly modded stock airbox and Cobra pipes. It also has th Dyno Jet Kit in it (dealership put it in, DJ 195 main jet, DJ needle and spring.)
My questions are:
1. The DJ needle taht is in there is adjustable and already has one shim on it. Do I need to change it back to the stock needle? Then shim that? The DJ needle is on the middle "notch" or step and has a .024" shim on it. If I change back to the stock needle, won't I need more than 1 shim? (The shim's I bought are .034", and they are plastic, is that O.K.?)
2. WHY THE HELL CAN"T I FIND THE A/F SCREW? I didn't think it would be that hard. Do I have to remove the float chamber? It is on the bottom of the carb right? More toward the back or front? Right or left? I have looked in the manual and at the photo's on here and still can't find it? Am I blind?
3. The bike has been running with the DJ 195 main jet in it and I want to switch it back to the stock Keihin 195. How do I get at the jets? Where do I find those. In the manual it looks like I have to remove the float chamber. Is that hard to do? does the whole carb have to come off or do I just work upside down?
Please be kind to me. I really want to get this done myself and get the bike running perfectly. I want to do it tommorw. Thanks.
