We have expanded the reputation system...

I installed a more extended reputation system on the site. If you read a post that you really like click the http://www.vtxcafe.com/images/styles/vtxcafe/buttons/reputation.gif icon and leave feedback. The rep system will give a better idea of someone versus post count.

Given rep shows up as green gems on the users profile: http://www.vtxcafe.com/images/styles/vtxcafe/reputation/reputation_green.gifhttp://www.vtxcafe.com/images/styles/vtxcafe/reputation/reputation_green.gifhttp://www.vtxcafe.com/images/styles/vtxcafe/reputation/reputation_green.gif

So, if you give other members rep for good post they will show to be a trustworthy member to the newer members.

The http://www.vtxcafe.com/cpstyles/vBulletin_3_vtxcafe_v1/ranks/rating_3.gif banner has nothing to do with reputation, it indicates posting activity....

How does it work. I gave you good feedback for this idea...however, I don't see where it shows up.

Good question.

Just go to your usercp and you will see the feedback left for you. I will add a "new rep" link at the top, so when new rep is left for you it will tell you.

Just a reminder to the new members that we have this rep system in place. If someone leaves you a good post or you see a helpful post take a second and leave them feedback.

I plan on working on a system to "reward" members with higher rep, so feedback would be great for thos helpful members.

This system really works. Please use it when someone helps. I've missed the boat a few times myself, but now I know where the button is and what it's for.

Just to update on this I added a newer feature that will now show you the rep you have left for other people, it's in your control panel. It also shows your rep power (the amout of rep you can leave).

Well, someone has to click on it to give you a reputation. If nobody does that then it doesn't matter. I forget to do it so I am sure others do too.

Reputation is given to a good or helpful post and you want to "rep" the poster, use it by clicking this icon icon in the upper right of their post: http://www.vtxcafe.com/images/styles/vtxcafe/buttons/reputation.gif

The awards are different, they are to show how here has served in the military...that is accessed via the award link at the top.

This is an excellent feature which I try to use regularly. Everyone should remember to click on the scale if someone helps you solve a problem or if the post is informative.

Let me check and see. The power is the amount of rep you can leave...the longer your here and the more rep you have means you can give more rep for good post.
