My apologies for not getting this info out sooner...only live about 2 miles from the site....will probably attend on Wed. and Thurs. of this coming week and will also try to catch a few rides then.

also...if you look in the site on the daily calender, check out
the scheduled ride for Wednesday....a ride to and ON (if i am reading
this correctly) the Darlington Raceway....will check into this more on
Saturday.....if is true, then how cool would that be !!!!

Just checked in with the Ride Officials....the Darlington Raceway ride will include 2 laps around "The Lady in Black" and will be paced at 60 MPH minimum....the ride will start in Charleston but if you are not down here for the event you "may" be able just to meet there for the ride...this would be especially good for the N.C. crew...there is a number posted on the site that all can check in with on this info....hope to catch any Xers there and will get pics for the site

Heritage Bike Rally Darlington Ride

pre-ride inspection - replace lost
rear turn signal lens............ 8 dollars

gas for 302 mile ride with a couple
hundred bikers.......... 22 dollars

charity donation to Shriners Childrens
hospital in Greenville (ride sponsors)....... 20 dollars

dropping down and out of turn 4 and
hitting XXX mph on the frontstrech of the
"track too tough to tame".............. PRICELESS

having my wife (2 up) see the speedo and
start screaming SLOW DOWN and there IS a
curve ahead (if i remeber correctly it IS a
round/oval track) for the final laps............ PRICELESS

puling into the pits and seeing nothing but
teeth from the biggest smile you have ever
seen as she took off her helmet........... MATRIMONIAL BLISS

(and somehow, she managed to take pics during the whole ride....i was
most impressed.....lol)

Now that looks like fun and not needing to worry about LEOs makes it even better. One Sunday I'll have to ride down and we'll go to breakfast at the Amer. Legion. Didn't realize you were so close.

This trip was a great ride and for a great cause....the sponsors and the
ride leaders were all legit and did an excellent job of keeping that
many riders together and protected through the back roads of S.C....I can not
say enough for the planning and organization of this ride...and this was no
SLOW ride...
And of course there was the RIDE at the Darlington Raceway...the
Grand Finale'!!! I do not even know where to start with this whole
experience.....the only thing I really have to say is that they will be trying
to make this an annual event (i think that will be a very difficult task), but if the sponsors succeed with this venture for next year then,..........THIS IS A MUST RIDE FOR ANY ONE WITHIN REASONABLE DISTANCE.....what an
unbelievable experience....
I personally would like to say thanks to the Heritage Rally, the ride leaders, the sponsors "Shriners", and to Darlington Raceway.
Job well done!!!
