I ran across this website with info that was 180 from what I was taught, but yet it made some sense. What do you think?

That is pretty much I broke in mine when I got it, more or less. The only thing I didn't do with mine was "snap" the throttle. I always warmed it up, and I rolled it up high and hard through the gears. Basically the same as "loading" the engine like this guy is talking about. Don't be afraid about rolling the throttle up and running it hard. It's a Honda and it can take it. Just keep an eye on your oil level (not only during break in--but ALWAYS). Newer engines can use a little oil some time, and it will usually go away. Use good quality gas, regular since this is a low compression engine and doesn't need anything more than 87. Other than that, keep it clean and ride safely! Do the regularly scheduled services (oil, plugs, bolt tightness/torque specs, cable inspections/lever & throttle freeplay, etc.) which should keep you in good shape for a lot of miles.
Check your tire pressures regularly (I do at least once every week) too and inspect the treads (to make sure you don't have any foreign objects--nails, screws, etc.--in them); get the most life out of them.

I'm not sure what I think.:)
I have no problem running it hard. With the new metal technology I'm sure the engine will take it. I still however belive that a person should change RPMs while breaking it in. You can still ride it hard and change RPM. I'm just old school I guess.

I'm not sure what I think about this either. It would be interesting to hear what Honda has to say about this method. Hopefully they would know the best way to break in a new engine with the metal technology they are using.
