Hey everyone. My name is Koury and I am a new owner of a 2004 VTX 1300c. Well, getting really close to owning it. I have to go and pick it up on Saturday! Can't wait.

Hey Koury I live in the Dallas area and recently purchased my X. I actually looked at the bikes from Ultimate but found a great deal for a new 2007 at Honda Suzuki North in Carrollton (hondasuzukinorth.com). Best of luck picking your bike up tomorrow as it's raining pretty hard out there right now.

Not sure what type of deal they cut you but if you are interested the dealer I bought from had about 2-3 new VTX 1300C left at $7999. May be worth looking at if it's in the same price range as the one you are looking at. Good people to deal with so far. My salesman's name was Charlie Brown. No Joke!

I dont know if you saw the one that i am buying. he was asking 7500 on ebay, i called him up and offered 6K and he took it.

The guy that was supposed to go down there with me and take his box trailer, had a family emergency and had to fly to Florida yesterday! So I am currently looking for someone with a pickup to give me a hand. Talk about aggrevating!

It's definitely a sharp bike. Glad you had a better experience with them than I did. When I went over there they were not very helpful at all and acted like they could care less about my business. So I took my business elsewhere. I really liked a Kawasaki Mean Streak they had over there that was customed up pretty good. Just didn't like the people is all. The bikes all looked great.

Hopefully you can find a way to get your bike to it's new home today. Good weather is just ahead of us!

I gott'er home guys! I just about lost it(quit smoking this week too). I decided that if no one was willing or able to help me out today, I would just help myself. So I went down to Tractor supply and bought a ball hitch and a four flat trailer light adapter. Went home, put the ball on and wired the lights, and then I went to Uhaul and got a trailer (8x5) and then went to Fort Worth in the pouring rain. I drove 55 the whole way('98 blazer S10 is a puss) When I got to ft. Worth, the sun was shinning (go figure). But, after all of the headache, she is sitting in my garage, nice and cozy, just where she needed to be. I think I may go snuggle with her tonight...keep her warm you know...

What is the best way for me to move my pegs out or put on hwy pegs? With an engine guard?

Also, my tranny seems to have some issues going from neutral to first, have to roll the bike around a little to get it to down shift, and it makes a little clanking between 1st and 2nd. Any ideas? I don't think it's normal...haha.

One more thing, this may be related to the tranny. The clutch seems to be a little far out when engaging the clutch. Any suggestions on the best way to adjust? Thanks.

I am a fan of highway bars (cobra fattys) then highway pegs. More safety in case you have to lay her down. The pegs will depend on what fits you best. Look around at other bikes.

The neutral to first is a kind of common issue with the bike. Here is what most do when caught "inbetween" - double clutch instead of rolling the bike around. Seems after doing this it slides right in first with no problem. The clunk is just to remind you what bike you have LOL - some have said that moving to synthetic oil has cut down on the clunk. I have found it to have lessened over time. Haven't switched to the synthetic yet.

You can adjust the clutch (minor ones right at the handle) more major ones at the other end of the cable by the motor.

Hope this helps.

Let me ad my congrats on a sharp bike. I saw this one on eBay, and was impressed (I already have my 1800R but love to look and dream of owning more than 1 big cruiser...).

I also had a *CLUNK* going into first from second, and it has lessened over time. I was told by other riders alot of the difficulty of going into first will change as it breaks in, but being a Honda, that can be MANY thousand miles. Remember, these are made to last, and have very little in the way of maintenance, other than oil and valve adjustments. They are engineered tight, and when you are riding and the Harley riders are wrenching, you will definitely appreciate it more, clunk or not.

I have not switched to synthetic but I have noticed that the clunk is worse at times than others. Maybe it has to do with the length of the ride and/or the outside temp.

I've had to do some minor adjustments to my clutch as well and notice it looses up again overtime. I just keep adjusting every so often to keep it just the way I like it. I also notice that it is easier to get back down into 1st if that adjustment is just right.

I researched less expensive options than highway bars and pegs and quickly realized there are none. I ended up going with bars and some really nice iso pegs and couldn't be happier.

Get on the mailing list with Maxim Honda in Plano. They send out coupons that can be up to $100 off of accessories a couple of time a year. I have saved quite a bit of money planning my purchases around those sales.
