    Hi Rich,

I'm down in Parker, and I'm having a HELL of a time getting my 1300c adjusted correctly after adding my cobra slipons and glen's A/F screw. :banghead:

I can't for the life of me get the 2 1/2 turns out from "lightly seated" and am not really having luck with the blip method of adjusting either.

My VTX, since doing the clayton mod, and now since adding the slipons, is backfiring and popping a lot. Makes me think it's lean, but even when trying to make it rich it was still doing it.

My VTX is stock other than the slipons. I haven't done the PAIR valve removal yet, was hoping to get it adjusted right.

Anyway, to my main question, I see you're fairly close to me, and I see through some of your conversations I found in the CO riders group that you might be familiar with carb tuning.

Would you be able to spare some of your time to help me adjust my VTX properly? I'll come to you and work around your schedule! Thanks :)

Rich, I found fuel in the air cleaner. Did a search on the site and found a carb adjustment instruction set from Scars and followed them. I cleaned the carb and made a cut in the A/F screw so I can adjust easily. Reassembled and still have fuel gushing out. I verified the choke is closed and replaced float (just in case). I still have fuel coming out the small tube on the carb to air cleaner mount face (tiny one at 8 o"clock). Also out of the air vent hose mounted on the carb, the short one.

Scars recommended to contact you with any problems. I'm having problems. Please help.

Covered in fuel in Columbus, Ohio. Sunhillow.

    Hey Ray,

Yep, still have it...tucked away for the winter in the garage and covered up. Never was able to sell it, bad timing and bad economy didn't help. Still looking for a real job...I'm working part time for the State of Ohio unemployment division. It's like working in a ghetto concentration camp, but at least it's something to keep me busy at this point.

Rich, I'm ordering a set of Cobra Dragsters and the Xtreme Revolution airbox for my 1300S '05.

Looking at the Jetting Spreadsheet, (http://vtx1300tips.com/VTX1300TIPS.htm#REJJETTINGSPREADSHEET), the closest I can come to is #11, Cobra Drags and Jammer Intake.
It says I should use the 200 Keihen Main Jet. I'm trying to find out how I can order this Jet... and, to verify that I should change out my stock 195 Main. The only information I can find about the Carb is from the Service Manual which says it's a VE7BA.... I can't find any place that gives the dimensions so that I can order a replacement. Can you help me with this?

    Thanks, 2ndchildhood,

I would check your connections, make sure the slider diaphragm moves freely and you got the diaphragm inserted in properly. Bike should run the way you have it set up now, even if it's not running "spot on." Will it start with the choke pulled? If it will start and run with the choke, close the choke and turn the A/F out a little more (like an 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn).

Hey Rich..Im new but have read alot of your posts and since you are a Buckeye, you gotta be ok.
Question for ya if I may impose.
    I have a 07 1300c. Clayton mod pipes.
I did the scar carb tune. Added .040 shims, needle was free, cut tit in half.
Started the bike and it ran, with the air box off adn hoses disconnected.
I then installed a Kury pro hyper.
Turned the A/F in adn back 2.5 turns.
    Now bike wont fire up.
Im lost here. Hope you can offer me a few ideas.
I ride to adn from work everyday 40 miles each way. I am gonna miss that!
