I saw in a recent read that the 1300 had something like 54 hp and 74 foot lbs of torque. I'm new to the whole cruiser world but I think thats close.

    Found this on the 1800:

    Honda Motorcycle Engine
    Valve Configuration: SOHC
    Engine Type: V Twin
    Displacement (cc): 1795
    Cylinders: 2
    Compression Ratio: 9.0:1
    Engine Stroke: 4-Stroke
    Starter: Electric
    Horsepower (bhp): 106
    Cooling: Liquid

And this on the 1300 in a "Ride Review" by a cruiser magazine online:

Honda claims more than 70 horsepower at the crank and a broad, flat torque curve that is felt by the rider as an instant surge at virtually any rpm above idle.

    Average is:
    1300 at the rwhp 54+-
    1800 at the rwhp 80+-

This is stock numbers and can vary from bike to bike; the most I have seen on a 1300 is 60.2 rwhp
With a stage 1 you can get up to 90 rwhp+- on the 1800
With a stage 1 you can get up to 70 rwhp +- on the 1300
Again it depends on the bike and who's tuning it.

Remember this is only generally speaking and can be different with each bike tested.

What does a "Stage 1" upgrade consist of? Pipes and intake maybe?

Sounds more realistic than what I posted as rwhp is where we're gonna feel it!

Honda claims 76 HP at the crank, they dyno between 56 and 62 at the wheel. Torque is in the 78-9 lb. ft. range at the crank. this is very typical of V twins in the 80 cid range. Honda did a great job of tuning the torque curve on these bikes. If you think putting 10 more steeds on the tire is worth the grand it will cost go for it but be warned you risk weakening the power in your everyday riding range. Personally, I never wind mine up past about 4k-5k.

    vtx1800 horsepower

My 2003 vtx1800 has a hypercharger, powercommander II, and hardchrome 3" longshots. i just had it remapped and dyno, my results are 84 rwph @ 4,900 rpm and 110ft/lb @ 3,100 rpm. I was told that I'm losing hp through the pipes. If i had 2 into 1 I could get about 5+ more hp

Thats wierd, I was told I am losing all my horsepower because of my age.

My stock 1800 dynoed at 86,20hp and 100.54ft lbs torque. The 106hp Honda gives is just the engine,no gearbox, final drive or anything that takes power away before the pavement. These figures give a truer picture. You may have to increase the size to 200% to read it and it will be fuzzier then. It's the best I can do for you.
