Using a garmin nuvi here. I mainly use it for speedo.

Never have much of an issue seeing display. Only hard with sun directly behind.

    I also keep a zip-lock handy.

Well, I ended up getting a Garmin 2557...a refurbed one.
Hopefully its a good one. Seems to have good reviews.
    Time will tell I guess
    Thanx for the input

Be sure to post back how it works out.

I for one may be looking for a new one soon, for vehicle, maybe bike too. I'm having a tough time justifying the price tag of the Zumo's for bike. They are nice though.

I will not buy a zumo ever. I can by no means justify spending that much cash on one when the 'car' ones do just as good. RAm mount and Aqua box...they way to go. I have used my Ram mount and Aqua box for my 4 yr old GPS and have been in storm after storm (and have even left it out over night in storms)....not one issue. Sure its a bit bulkier then buying a zumo.....but again, I cant see spending that much cash for a gps. Each to his/her own though...is what I always say

I'm still using my old garmin nuvi 42LM that I was using on my Triumph. It's bright enough but in direct sunlight it's hard to see. I just cup my hand over it to read right quick. I need to upgrade.

Get in the mountains and you lose cell coverage=no more navigation.

As I previously mentioned, if you know what area you'll be in you can download maps from google - for free - and have full turn-by-turn navigation with no cell service.

I use a Garmin Nuvi. Forget which model, but the new ones use a different screen technology and it is a lot brighter and more readable even in the sun.

There is a guy on Youtube who shows how to waterproof the Nuvi which is pretty cool. I don't have a link to it right now, but you could probably do a search and find it.
