    Hmmm, that suggests that contrary to previously expressed opinions, the Goldwing 1800 engine in those two bikes is also faster in the straightaway (e.g. 1/4 mile) when ridden by equivalent riders. It is also worth noting that the GW1800 class engines all deliver substantially greater HP and Torque than the VTX1800. I was surprised to see in this list that the ST1300 had a faster 1/4 mile time and higher HP than the VTX1800 although the ST1300 had lower torque than the VTX1800. Is the ST1300 what member Kookoopelli had at the WV ride a couple years ago?

    I don't know what bike Kookoopelli had, but a riding friend has a ST1300 and it's surprisingly light. Power to weight?

    Good point. It is also engine type since the ST1300 is a 4-cylinder not a V-twin. Also, the ST1300 is not a 14,000 rpm redline liter bike either. Just shows that displacement is not everything. Note that I'm just guessing at the redline on the high power street bikes but I know they are higher than most other type bikes. I've never ridden one or even touched one.
